Sandustry Artifact Locations — Where to Find Artifacts

Sandustry Artifact locations are not a universal coordinate list. Each world is procedurally generated, so the reliable answer is to explore for ancient structures early, then use the Tier 5 Locator and its directional scan to narrow down hidden Artifacts in your own save.

Where to find Sandustry Artifact locations

Do not copy an X/Y coordinate from another player's save and expect it to work in yours. Sandustry uses procedurally generated worlds, which changes the terrain and routes around an Artifact. Before the Locator, follow normal underground objectives and expansion routes while watching for unusually regular ancient structures rather than ordinary caves.

When you find an Ancient Room or Puzzle Chamber, pause and inspect it before adding materials. Buildable yellow tiles, colored targets, cables, doors, and Water or Lava interactions are gameplay clues, not just decoration. A room can be an Artifact route even when you do not yet have the tool or Research progression needed to finish it.

The early search loop is simple: explore, identify an ancient structure, inspect the room, and solve it only when its rules make sense. The known first Artifact Puzzle was redesigned after players could get stuck, including a no-fire hint and Unstuck / Respawn support, so an intentional restriction is not automatically a bug.

Sandustry Artifact locations: Locator searches and room routes

After reaching Tier 5, research the Locator for 3,000 Gold and charge it with Void Juice. The base tool scans for the nearest hidden Artifact and gives rough direction, so use a repeatable route: charge, scan, move in that direction, then scan again. Its arrow narrows an area; it does not mark the exact room entrance or complete the puzzle for you.

Water-based rooms are one documented pattern. Community reports describe yellow buildable tiles, green targets or collectors, a Water source, and connected cables or indicators; moving Foundations can route Water to the needed targets. Watch the cable and target state between attempts instead of flooding the whole chamber, then use the Artifact Puzzles guide for room-specific mechanics.

Other routes can be held behind terrain or tool rules. A Crackstone barrier is part of an older Relic route, where Researching the Rocket Launcher opens a new exploration area; see how to break Crackstone and the Relic guide before following Demo-era wording. The Locator guide covers Void Juice charging, and the Pyramid page distinguishes a Dunes landmark from a confirmed finished Artifact route.

Use tips and common mistakes

Do not dig straight at the Locator arrow: an Ancient Structure can have walls, doors, or a puzzle entrance between you and the Artifact. In a puzzle room, read yellow buildable squares, cables, and target colors before placing Water, Lava, or Sand; player reports warn that careless material placement can make a setup hard to restore. If none of your tools affect a route, return to Research rather than forcing it. The Locator tells you where to search, while the room's mechanics decide whether you can claim the Artifact.

Frequently asked questions

Are Sandustry Artifact locations fixed?

No. Sandustry uses procedurally generated worlds, so another player’s exact coordinates are not a reliable way to find every Artifact in your save.

How do I find Artifacts in Sandustry?

Explore Ancient Rooms naturally early on. After Tier 5, research the Locator for 3,000 Gold, charge it with Void Juice, and use repeated directional scans to find the nearest hidden Artifact.

Why can’t I enter an Artifact Room?

A room can require puzzle mechanics, special terrain access, a tool restriction, or an environmental interaction. Check for buildable yellow tiles, circuit indicators, Water or Lava clues, and Research gates such as Crackstone.
